I have always had a thing for creeks.
Many of my most vivid childhood memories involve the quiet rushing of a small hidden creek.

One tale includes a determined crawdad, another is still represented by a scar on my left elbow, and yet another resides hidden in my 13 year old heart…a time of searching, and then finding myself and my need for the God who loves me.

There is a verse in the book of Isaiah that states, “The Lord will make Himself known.”

I believe that God chooses to reveal himself to us in ways that make it impossible for us to deny His power, sovereignty and grace.

For me, this includes His Creation, and of course, the peaceful beauty of a little creek.

My in laws live on a beautiful piece of land about an hour outside of Charlotte. We’ve visited numerous times over the years, but this past Saturday was the first time I had the opportunity to walk part of the property on my own.

The girls were spreading corn kernels for the various forms of wildlife, and my husband was in his “happy place” watching the NCAA tournament. So this introvert jumped at the chance to explore on her own.
Following the creek that afternoon was like medicine for my soul, but this was no surprise to God, because He knows the depths and the longings of His children.

What is your “creek”?

Where do you feel the power of His presence? When does your spirit feel at peace? Who are you with in these precious moments?

My prayer for you today is that you will intentionally seek Him and ask that He reveal more of Himself to you. I hope He surprises you with how much He loves and cares for you my friend.
