Retreat

If heaven were on earth, it would be in the mountains. The views would be endless, the breeze refreshing and cool, the colors vibrant and the smells damp and sweet. Heaven on earth is being listened to by heart sisters, encouraged, strengthened and challenged – without judgment or condemnation. Heaven on earth is belly laughter, sharing a blanket by the fire, whispering secrets in quiet corners, and praising God together under the stars.

I caught a glimpse of heaven last weekend. Sharing a sacred space in the mountains with eight other women blessed my heart and forever changed me. Each of these women possesses a beauty and strength that has developed out of a close and abiding relationship with Jesus. Sure, there is pain and heartache in each of their stories, but there is also a hope that “will not disappoint.” (Romans 5:5)

I get to do life with several of these women on a weekly basis, a few of them are on my speed dial, but each of them are imprinted on my heart.

Love one another deeply as brothers and sisters. Outdo one another in showing honor. Do not lack diligence in zeal, be fervent in the Spirit, serve the Lord. Rejoice in hope; be patient in affliction; be persistent in prayer. Share with the saints in their needs; pursue hospitality. Romans 12:10-13

  1. If heaven were on earth it would be in the time that I spend with you dear friend. The mountains are a huge part of that. I love growing in what it means to love brothers and sisters truly the way God calls us.
